Ministry Mission

Purpose of the ministry is to minister to the needs of Young Adults and to be available to help the Church when special needs arise.

Ministry Description

The Young Adult Ministry seeks to provide spiritual and social outreach to young adults ages 18-35. The group is split between two groups, one being our college level ranging from 18-23. The other group, ranging from ages 24-35 will be our Professional level. Some activities will be geared towards both groups but will meet each group where they are, sometimes being separate during fellowship time.

Endeavors to welcome and empower Bright Hope Church members and visitors alike to feel a sincere sense of comfort when entering the doors of the Lord’s house.

Brings the choir into the service, seats members of the church, distribute welcome packets to visitors, direct the members during offering.

To promote the growth of existing businesses and stimulate the creation of new businesses for today and the next generation of the church.

Partnering with them to support the overall and economic goals and mission of Bright Hope; developing a range of educational forums, presenting opportunities that meet their basic spiritual, instructional and networking needs.

Fosters and supports the development and growth of ethically and spiritually based business ownership within the church.

Engages in activities in and out of Bright Hope that empowers the membership and community to grow socially and politically. They hold many informational workshops and fairs. They promote voter registration meetings.

Supports the Board of Deacons as well as provide support to our Senior Pastor, Ministerial Staff, Church Membership and our Auxiliary Members in every way that they can.

Assist and prepare female candidates for baptism, cleaning and storage of elements and trays, organizes the Seder Dinner, gifts for Sick and Shut-in, helps with the ordination of the walking deacons.

Provides fellowship and spiritual activities to support and build strong healthy Christian families.

Ministry Description

Provides fellowship within the Bright Hope family and surrounding Yorktown community with Family and Friends Weekend. This is a two-day event of fun for the children and young adult, where various ministries of the church provide tables of goods for purchase by vendors and ministries. On Sunday of that weekend, the ministry celebrates the largest number of family members in attendance at church service with a gift or plague. We are also a financial supporter of the annual Scholarship Fund.

Ministry Description

Assist Seniors which includes planned shopping days, Senior Fun Day and Movie Day at the Church. Plans special events that will enrich the lives of our Seniors.

To make members and visitors feel welcome when entering into the sanctuary at Bright Hope. We let our Christian Spirit shine generating the essence that we are a friendly church who appreciates our visitors presence and thereby encouraging them to return or become future members.

Ministry Description

Perform with a heart of service gladly accepting other Hostess functions as requested and agreed upon by its membership, such as, church functions, luncheons, banquets, or meeting special guests. Provide members of the community with necessary items for their survival by providing food baskets and clothing.

Designed to give married couples the opportunity to examine God’s perspective on marriage and to enhance their individual marriages to their fullest potential; and to provide an outreach ministry to married couples in the church and community.

Ministry Description

The Marriage Enrichment Ministry offers a myriad of biblically based lessons, whole group and small group discussions, holiday dinner outings, date nights, guest speakers, annual renewal of vows, annual retreat, annual picnic and an outreach to married friends, neighbors, and relatives.

To uplift and enrich the lives of women spiritually, emotionally and physically and to provide support and resources for a better life.

Ministry Description

Seeks to be a holistic women’s ministry that fosters relationships with the women of Bright Hope and surrounding communities. We engage in a wide array of activities, such as annual women retreat, Social Teas, Workshops, Susan Komen Walk for the Cure, Little Sister Programs, and etiquette classes to name a few. We also collaborate with the Helping Hand Ministry for Senior Movie Day.

Actively involved, dedicated and committed to the building of God’s Kingdom through the study of His word and rendering service through both home and foreign missions.

Ministry Description

Assist the Pastor, Ministerial Staff, and Deacons in ministering to the sick, homeless, and needy. They evangelize to the unsaved and demonstrate their faith through the study of God’s word and prayer. They also distribute holiday gift baskets to the sick and shut-in population as well as to the community at large.

Consist of health care personnel including, but not limited to, Advanced Practice Nurses (C.R.N.P., CNM, etc.) Registered Nurses (RN), Licensed Practical Nurses (L.P.N.), Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A.), Medical Assistants and Mental Health Workers.

Ministry Description

Must be covered to perform basic nursing assessments, engage in first aid, perform CPR, and use the AED when appropriate. Take vital signs and check blood pressure, listen to breath sounds and check blood sugar levels when necessary. Determine the need for further evaluation when there is a need that goes beyond the church’s scope of provision.

To assist the Pastor and ministerial staff with special needs.

Ministry Description

Pastor’s Aid is a group of diligent members who assist the Pastor and the ministerial staff tending to specific task such as cleaning the ceremonial robes prior to service, providing water and throat lozenges for the ministers during/after service, provide refreshments for special guest ministers.

Prays for the Pastor and ministerial staff, members and community during  mid-week service, on Saturday and Sunday mornings.

Ministry Description

Dedicated Christians who are committed to the service of the Lord through prayer. They devote a great portion of the day and week to sincere prayer. They also visit the sick and shut-in.

Assist the church with the maintenance and beautification of the pulpit and sanctuary.

Provides greeting cards for a variety of occasions (sympathy, get-well, birthday, anniversaries) to the members of the Bright Hope Congregation.

To provide wisdom, Example and Experience to its members and congregation through in-reach and outreach activities.

They provide guidance in the areas of Spiritually, Service, Mission and Fellowship. They provide workshops on Diabetes, Health Issues, Paper Shredding and other functions.

Encourages and supports the educational advancement of the members of Bright Hope Baptist Church and its community. We minister to the needs of our Church and community by providing financial aid information and assistance; offering educational resources, counseling, tutoring and acknowledging and honoring all levels of educational achievement.

Recognizes the need for the renewing of all minds, regardless of the age of the learner. They implement and promote changing and challenging programs to help build the skill base of our congregation and community as well as strengthen study skills among our youth and young adults.

To promote and enrich the fellowship among the Seasoned Saints of Bright Hope.

Designed to be a resource and focal point for providing information and addressing issues concerning senior citizens. This is done through social, physical and educational activities such as bible study, trips, exercise, music, drama, guest speakers and dinner outings.

To assist the Trustees, Pastor and Ministerial Staff with financial, spiritual and stewardship task regarding Bright Hopes’ members and the community where possible.

Ministry Description

Devise and implement their own plans of meaningful contributions within the church body. Implement procedures that can be utilized to expeditiously prepare a warm and proper Repast for families and friends of a deceased Trustee Member; have a plan of action in place that can be initiated in an emergency situation.

Seeks to empower, support and encourage men as they quest to fulfill their God-given destiny.  Believing that divinely inspired possibility harnesses our life direction, we strive to build a community of Purpose-Driven men.

Ministry Description

Endeavors to uplift men to become servants in at least one ministry or organization inside or outside of the church. This holds us out as examples of Purpose Driven Men, men of discipleship devoted to God, our families, mentees, and the community at large.

Dedicated to the love and care of the church and to provide support whenever their assistance is needed.

Ministry Description

Offers support to the church family in a variety of ways. They provide office support for one hour each Sunday morning by answering the phone and answering questions at the reception desk. They help sponsor a clothing drive twice a year for the homeless and women in shelters. They send cards to the sick and shut-in.

Seeks to create a volunteer choir, dance and media expertise whose mission is to utilize our singing gifts and talents from God.

Ministry Description

Choir sings hymns, spiritual, classical and spiritual music. This ministry also sponsors an annual concert in December to lift up their voices in praise to God.

The Sisters of Praise Dancers is another part of the WSAM Ministry which consists of Adult, Young Adults and Youth Dancers.
